Career Fairs

Career Fairs

Northeastern University offers students two Career Fairs during the academic year, one in the fall and another in the spring. A recent Northeastern graduate reported she received 4 job offers from employers she spoke to at the Career Fair! Attending the Career Fair can play a significant role in your job search whether you are looking for a full-time (post-graduate), internship or co-op position.

The Career Fair provides students from all majors and class years with the opportunity to…

  • Speak with employers to learn about career paths and employment opportunities: full-time, internships or co-op positions.
  • Learn what skills and experiences increase your employment potential and how to better brand yourself to potential employers.
  • Build a professional network that may enhance your chances of employment.
    • A current senior reported FOUR offers which developed from meetings at last fall's Career Fair (one from a former co-op employer)

    • Next Steps

    • Career Fairs present a great opportunity for students to network with prospective employers and to make a great “first impression.” Review Career Fair Tips prepared by the Northeastern University Career Services Staff.

    • Be aware that federal regulations may prevent some employers from accepting your resume. In this instance ask the recruiter if you can leave your name and contact information.

    • Remember that a Career Fair is different from a Job Fair. A Career Fair is an opportunity for an employer to brand their organization on campus and educate potential applicants on career paths, their hiring processes, etc. This provides you, the opportunity to learn more about a particular employer, show interest in potential job opportunities, create a connection with a recruiter and brand yourself with a variety of organizations.

    • See you at the Career Fair!
